I often receive comments that complain about the appearance of this
site.  I know it could look better.  It could also look a lot
worse.

I think the site’s appearance upsets Mac users
particularly, because they’ve gotten so used to Apple going out of
its way to make its products “pretty”.  They’ve come
to believe that a product must look good to be good, so this site’s
less-than-ideal visual appearance offends them as much as its
name.  This probably says something about the kind of person who
worships at the altar of Apple, but I’ll leave that for you to think
about.

If it comes down to adding information (or opinion or
speculation or whatever) to the site or making it prettier, I’m
going to err on the site of adding information every time.  I’m
more of a “function over form” kind of person.  If
something works for me as it is, I don’t care too much what it looks
like. 

Perhaps, though, to appease the aesthetic leanings of
the Mac community, I should consider hiring an artist to re-design the
site someday.  If it ever starts generating income more than its
hosting costs, perhaps I will.  That will depend on how many people find the Google Ads here of interest…
